The 1st International Conference on Advanced Aspects of Software Engineering (ICAASE'14) has been held at Constantine 2 University, in November 2 - 4, 2014. The conference included special sessions on specific advanced aspects of the theory, design, applications and tools related to software engineering. It provided a forum for academic researches and practitioners to discuss recent progress in the area of Advanced Aspects of Software Engineering. Beyond its technical and scientific goals, another main purpose of ICAASE'14 was to promote collaboration between participants in research and education in the area of computer science and engineering. The conference welcomed any submission within the scope of its topics of interest, including but are not limited to the following topics: The papers submitted to the conference were carefully peer-reviewed by three members of the program committee and 27 papers with the highest scores were selected. We thank all the Program Committee members for their reviews and all the authors for their contributions.
