      <abstract>
        <p>Mastering the development of software having the required quality level is a complex task. Since 1968, the software engineering discipline has grown in order to offer theories, methods and tools to software engineers to tackle this complex task. The role of software engineering educators is to help the learners to acquire competencies in those theories, methods and tools to better master the production of quality products.</p>
