Preface It was a great pleasure for us to organize FIRE 2015 for the 7th time. Started in 2008 FIRE community is still growing and by now it is regarded as the most important Information Retrieval Evaluation Forum in South Asia. We had 5 tracks this time. The tasks are:  Arabic Plagiarism Detection (AraPlagDet)  Cross-Language detection of SOurce COde re-use (CL-SOCO)  Shared task on Mixed Script Information Retrieval  Automated Story Illustration  Entity Extraction from Social Media Text - Indian Languages (ESM-IL) We saw a good participation with 26 teams participating across these five tracks. A big Thank you to the track organizers and to the research groups who have taken part in these tasks. It is because of you that FIRE has made an impact in the scientific community. FIRE data has been downloaded throughout the world and is now considered to be benchmark data for several information access applications. Papers in reputed journals like ACM TALIP, IPM, IR, and Conferences like SIGIR, CIKM have regularly cited FIRE data. Download of FIRE data has increased significantly in past few years. We wish to continue this endeavour and we will be very happy if the data and experiments reported in FIRE turnout to be useful to the information access research community worldwide.
