This volume contains the papers presented at the second international conference RTA-CSIT 2016: Recent Trends and Applications in Computer Science and Information Technology held on November 17-18, 2016 in Tirana. The conference has been organized by the Department of Informatics, Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana, Albania. The main goal was to provide an opportunity for researchers and IT practitioners to present their research results and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solution adopted. In this second edition of our conference, we created a separate poster session in order to enhance the visibility of works in progress (short research papers). In total 15 full papers and 13 short papers were presented in the conference sessions. We aimed to create an opportunity for researchers in Albania and neighbouring countries to discuss their work with futher colleagues, boosting so collaboration opportunities. Accepted papers represented research works from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Italy, Greece and Turkey. Looking forward for future collaborations, we would like to thank you all authors, invited speakers and reviewers for their contributions.
