-In Mexico there are institutions responsible for carrying statistics about academic data, including the quantity of students that manage to reach high school which are less than the amount that graduates from middle school. One way to deal this problem is the use of books and brochures that they support to study, that they can find also in digital format, nevertheless these are tedious because they have very few visual sections and they become boring to the reader. Based on this, it was thought in the develop of a software application that would help study to the students, who want to take the admission test for high school To realize this, 96 students of middle school were tested, which would be tested to check the software's functionality, where 48 students would take a simplified test like the admission tests but with a 10% of error range, because the original admission tests have 90 questions. This is the traditional method of learning. The remaining 48 students would test the software developed and take the same simplified test that was mentioned before. For this last test updated technologies were used with software applications (laptop and smartphone), this was done because the computers at the institution were not compatible with the software. This affected significantly to the population size at the beginning, since of the 48 students contemplated, it was tested with 20 students, this caused an increase in the error range. These tests were done into the school library to have a control of external variables that could affect the investigation. Once obtained the results of tests, it was obtained a 2.72 of final score for the students that only did the test or using the traditional method, on the other way, the students that use the software obtain a 3.46 of final score. In this last, they were also asked to participants about what of two methods they preferred for study and despite that the software got better appreciation, some they followed preferring the traditional method for study. Some recommendations to get better reliability to the information is prevent the both populations about the test application, because this could have influenced the score of students that use the traditional method, since they made the test without notice or without the opportunity for study as how they had it the students that use the software.
Resumen—En Me´ xico existen instituciones encargadas de llevar estad´ısticas sobre datos acade´ micos, entre los cuales esta que la cantidad de alumnos que logran entrar a la preparatoria es menor que los que salen de la secundaria. Una de las maneras para combatir este problema es el uso de folletos y libros, de los cuales tambie´ n se pueden encontrar en su forma digital, sin embargo, estos tienden a ser tediosos por el poco apartado visual con el que cuentan y llegan a aburrir al usuario. En base a esto se penso´ en el desarrollo de una aplicacio´ n de software que ayude a los estudiantes que desean ingresar a una preparatoria a estudiar para el examen de admisio´ n, para lo cual se realizaron algunas pruebas con las que se probar´ıa el correcto funcionamiento del software a un total de 96 alumnos de secundaria, de los cuales 48 alumnos realizar´ıan un examen simplificado similar a uno de admisio´ n pero con un margen de error del 10 %, ya que este tipo de exa´ menes cuentan con ma´ s de 90 preguntas, esto entonces usado en el m e´todo tradicional de aprendizaje. Los 48 alumnos restantes, probar´ıan el software desarrollado y posteriormente realizar´ıan el mismo examen que los alumnos de la muestra anterior. Para este u´ ltimo, se emplearon las tecnolog´ıas actuales para el uso de la aplicacio´ n (laptop y celular), esto debido a que las computadoras de la institucio´ n donde se probo´ el sistema no eran compatibles con este. Esto de igual manera afecto significativamente a la poblacio´ n prevista en un inicio, ya que de los 48 alumnos contemplados se probo´ con un total de 20 alumnos, provocando un aumento en el margen de error. Dichas pruebas se llevaron a cabo dentro de la biblioteca de la escuela para tener un control de las variables externas que pudieran afectar a la investigacio´ n.
Una vez obtenidos los resultados de los exa´ menes, se rescato´ un 2.72 de calificacio´ n final para los alumnos que u´ nicamente probaron el examen o me´ todo tradicional, por otra parte, esta´ n los que utilizaron el sistema, logrando un 3.46 de calificacio´ n final. En este u´ltimo, tambie´ n se le pregunto a los participantes sobre cua´ l de los dos me´ todos prefer´ıan para estudiar y a pesar de que el software obtuvo una mejor apreciacio´ n, hubo algunos que segu´ıan prefiriendo el uso del me´ todo tradicional para estudiar. Unas recomendaciones que se tomar´ıan para mejorar la confiabilidad de los datos es prevenir a ambas poblaciones sobre la aplicacio´ n del examen, esto ya que esto pudo haber influido en la calificacio´ n de los alumnos que emplearon el me´ todo tradicional ya que realizaron el examen sin aviso previo o sin tener oportunidad de estudiar como lo tuvieron los que usaron el software.
