The main subject of the conference is the development of intelligent software systems and their application in industry and other fields. This conference was held in Ulyanovsk, Russia, October 23-25, 2018 (http://fti.ulstu.ru). The conference was supported by the Russian Association of Artificial Intelligence and the Russian Association of Fuzzy Systems and Soft Computing. More than thirty in-person reports were presented on the following topics: Applied Intelligent Systems, Intelligent Systems in the industry, Semantic systems and technologies in design, Data mining. The following problems were touched: application of intelligent data processing methods in industry, use of models and algorithms of the theory of fuzzy systems in applied developments. The conference was attended by 157 researchers in the field of artificial intelligence from more than 25 cities in Russia, the USA, Belarus, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan. Program Committee members and reviewers carefully reviewed each article submitted to the conference. Based on the reviews, the Program Committee received 61 reports for presentation at the conference and publication. All articles were reviewed through EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=fti2018). The international conference Fuzzy Technologies in the Industry - 2018 has become the basis for fruitful work and maintaining effective professional cooperation among researchers in the field of fuzzy systems and soft computing in Russia and foreign colleagues.
