Preface
It is our pleasure to present you the proceedings of International Conference Rural and
Elderly Health Informatics (IREHI-2018), held in Cotonou/Benin 3 – 4 December 2018.
IREHI is intended to attract researchers with a strong background in the field of
healthcare and Medical care IT with the main focus on rural and elderly health
informatics. The conference is soliciting literature review, survey and research papers
including, whilst not limited to, the following areas of interest:
Health informatics
Emerging Technology in Rural and Elderly Healthcare
Internet of Things in Healthcare (Focus on Rural and Elderly care)
Big data and Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (Focus on Rural and Elderly care)
Machine Learning, Blockchain Technologies in Rural and Elderly care
Smart House Automation in Home-based Healthcare and Nursing
Telemedicine supported Rural and Elderly Healthcare
The IREHI-2018 joined scientists from Germany, Benin, Cameroon, France, Ghana,
India, Italy, Kuwait, Mexico, Nigeria, Portugal, Senegal, The Netherlands, Togo, United
Kingdom, Ukraine and USA together with practical doctors.
The language of IREHI-2018 conference is English. The conference took the form of oral
presentations of peer-reviewed regular papers.
The conference would not have been possible without the support of many people. First
of all, we would like to thank the program and organization staff, the members of the
Technical Program Committees and external reviewers for their excellent and tireless
work. We sincerely wish that all attendees benefited scientifically from the conference
and wish them every success in their research. It is the humble wish of the conference
organizers that the professional dialogue among the researchers, scientists, engineers and
doctors continues beyond the event and that the friendships and collaborations forged
will linger and prosper for many years to come.
