Abstract. As per a previous study “Healthcare systems can use the telemedi-
cine paradigm or traditional direct care approach to deliver health services to
the population and an Agile healthcare, learning from the agile software devel-
opment methodology, seems to be an approach today to face the complexity of
healthcare delivery.” The present work is a follow-up of the previous work that
aims at implementing a speech-based Agile Healthcare solution in order to
boost and improve a collaborative work between health care professionals and
traditional healers, who are mainly illiterate.
The proposed, designed, and implemented solution is a full-fledged medical
practice that brings together isolated health workers and urban-based specialists
through an adapted speech-based scrum board in a multidisciplinary remote
health care delivery system. Rural health workers can, for example, send to spe-
cialist surgeons the contents of their patient notes, lesion photos, X-rays and be
remotely accompanied in diagnosing and treatment. This linking is intended to
facilitate or improve the accessibility, quality and effectiveness of medical care.
The main aspect and novelty of the system are to use speech-based scrum board
to enable traditional healer’s inclusion in to a telehealthcare system.
This is an ongoing work. Action-based research and testing are ongoing too and
will be reported at the conference.
