      <abstract>
        <p>It is our pleasure to welcome you to the rst edition of the International Workshop on Requirements Engineering for Arti cial Intelligence (RE4AI'20), held in conjunction with the 26th Working Conference on Requirements Engineering (REFSQ'20), in the city of Pisa, Italy. RE4AI aims to provide a forum for discussing how Requirements Engineering methods, techniques and tools may be used to support the development of Arti cial Intelligence systems that are lawful, ethical and robust. The main goals of the RE4AI workshop are as follows: raising awareness in the RE community about the importance of RE in realizing Trustworthy AI systems; bringing in the same room people from AI and RE industry and academia to discuss pressing issues, such as how RE can contribute to prevent AI systems to fail or to go rogue; setting up the basis for collaboratively producing a report on the challenges, candidate solution paths, and research priorities regarding RE4AI; motivating cross fertilization between AI and RE research.</p>
