The talk will cover our multi-year research agenda on democratizing data science, including the development of scalable spreadsheet tools, and interactive visualization search and recommendation tools. I will discuss how we arrived at this research agenda. I will also discuss roadblocks in my career and for this research agenda -- and, specifically, rejections, rejections, and more rejections -- and how I handled them, with help from colleagues and students.
