SWForum Workshop on Trustworthy Software and Open Source Foreword Nowadays, the increasing importance of software for businesses, industry and the life of common citizens makes the notion of trustworthiness a crucial one. Trustworthy software is that for which some important properties such as correctness, compliance, reliability, availability, performance, safety, security, maintainability, privacy of data, energy efficiency, sustainability, and certified interaction with humans are ensured. In this light, the SWForum project, funded by the European Commission, has organized a workshop aiming at triggering the discussion around trustworthy software and the tools and methods to support its development especially around the following three topics: • Characteristics of trustworthy software. • Developing trustworthy software. • The role of open source in the development of trustworthy software. The workshop has received 7 submissions and 6 of them have been selected to be included in these proceedings. These papers have been selected after a careful evaluation process involving 2 senior researchers from academia and industry. In two cases the evaluation process has required a major revision of the papers. At two workshop, in addition to the paper presentations, four inspiring keynotes have been offered by the following speakers: Roberto Di Cosmo (IRILL, France), Matthias Eckermann (SUSE, Germany), Frank Karlitschek (Nextcloud, Germany), Tony Wasserman (CMU, USA). We would like to thank the Program Committee Members which have provided valuable reviews, the authors for submitting and presenting interesting work, and all the people attending the workshop to have stimulated interesting and insightful discussion.
