Preface: Proceedings of the International Workshop on
   Advances in Information Systems, Mathematical
Modelling, and IT Applications in Industry (AISI 2021)

The International Workshop on Advances in Information Systems, Mathematical
Modelling, and IT Applications in Industry (AISI 2021) was held on October 21,
2021 at the Altai State University and brought together a wide spectrum of scholars
and practitioners from different regions of Russia and foreign countries. This
scientific event was organized by the Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia) and
the Department of Production Organization of the Russian State Agrarian
University - Moscow Timiryazev Agricultural Academy (Moscow, Russia) in close
cooperation with the non-profit Research Support Association (Barnaul, Russia), as
well as with many collages from the community of researchers, scholars, and
industry practitioners.

The key topics discussed on the workshop included (1) new frontiers in information
systems, (2) advances in mathematical modeling and computer simulation, as well
as (3) applications of information and communication technology in various
industries in Russia and abroad.

We received 87 applications from numerous research and education centers from
Russia and neighboring countries, and only 35 papers were selected for the
Workshop. As a result, 18 best were selected for further publications. The
Workshop has a strong academic focus and is grounded in a careful selection
procedure by independent reviewers. All the papers strictly correspond to the
research agenda of the AISI 2021 Workshop and present results of theoretical and
experimental research conducted by the scholars and practitioners. Only original
papers were accepted for consideration, and they were checked for originality and
plagiarism. Each paper was reviewed (double-blind) by at least two independent
scholars.

We are happy to present the best papers from the International Workshop on
Advances in Information Systems, Mathematical Modelling, and IT Applications in
Industry (AISI 2021) in these proceedings. The papers cover all the main research
directions and will appeal to a wide audience of scholars, researchers, and
practitioners. The Organizing Committee would like to express its gratitude to all
the reviewers who helped us over the last months assessing and curating this set of
research papers. We also thank all the participants of the AISI 2021 Workshop and
hope to meet them at the Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia) next year.
