1. Welcome Message to QUAMES 2022
It is our pleasure to welcome you to the third edition of the International Workshop on Quality
and Measurement of Software Model-Driven Development (QUAMES), co-located with the 16th
International Conference on Research Challenges in Information Science (RCIS) 2022. After the
successful editions in Nanjing (2013), and Dallas (2014), this year QUAMES is organized as an
in-person event in Barcelona.
People and society are more and more dependent on software systems for our daily lives,
and social and business contexts. The success of software systems has a direct relation to the
efficiency of development processes to obtain high-quality products. In this context, model-
driven development (MDD) is a well-known and largely-adopted paradigm for automating
software production and re-use of development knowledge.
The MDD paradigm is centered on the automatic generation of software systems by means
of model transformations. In such an MDD context, the quality of conceptual models is of
paramount importance since it directly influences the quality of final software systems.
The main goal of QUAMES is to present methods, procedures, techniques, and tools that
enable the measurement and evaluation of the quality of conceptual models that can be used in
MDD environments. QUAMES attracts contributions of the following topics: quality models,
measures and measurement for conceptual models, testing of MDD applications as well as
model-based testing, defect detection on models, empirical evaluation of quality models, tools for
all these topics, quality of models for ethics and trustworthiness, and case studies, experiments,
and surveys of MDD projects.
This year QUAMES received 4 high-quality manuscript submissions performed by authors
coming from Europe, and South America. Each paper was reviewed by at least 3 members of
the program committee. Finally, two of these submissions were accepted for publication. For
the first time, we invite papers already published on conferences to pursue more discussion in
the workshop. We accept 1 submission of conference-first papers track.

The program of QUAMES is comprised of a keynote talk and the presentation of the ac-
cepted papers. QUAMES starts with an inspiring keynote by Lidia López titled Quality in
agile. After that, the two presentations of the regular papers accepted will be performed.
These papers are titled An Approach for Model-Based Testing of Augmented Reality Applications
and A Proposal for Measuring Understandability of Business Process Models. Finally, the pre-
sentation of the conference-first paper titled Towards Integrating Data-Driven Requirements
Engineering into the Software Development Process: A Vision Paper published in REFSQ 2020
with doi https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-030-44429-7_10 will be presented to enrich the discussion
of quality in MDD environments.
Finally, we would like to thank all the authors for their contributions, the program committee
members for their more than valuable work on selecting the papers to be presented at QUAMES
2022, and the RCIS 2022 organizers for their support. We are looking forward to an excellent
QUAMES 2022 event promoted by interesting presentations and fruitful discussions. We are
confident that you will really enjoy both QUAMES and RCIS this year in the beautiful city of
Barcerlona!
