Preface

The current environment ecosystems have associated high uncertainty levels due to both endogenous and exogenous variables, which change very dynamically and therefore affect companies' evolution. These organisations welcome tools that help them out not only to analyse and improve their products and processes but also predict their performance. The papers presented at the Interoperability for Enterprise Systems and Applications Workshops 2022 and included in this volume aim to respond to the aforementioned challenges.

The I-ESA'22 has been prepared jointly by UPV (http://i-esa2022.webs.upv.es/) and InterOP-VLab (http://interop-vlab.eu/). The event has taken place at the UPV from March 22 nd to March 25 th and consisted of parallel conference and workshop sessions. The Workshop Programme was composed of eight workshops and 45 papers -plus eight discussion summary reports -with distinct future-oriented themes focusing on bridging the gap between research and industry applications.

As well as high scientific quality, I-ESA Workshops aim to facilitate active discussions between the speakers and the workshop participants to encourage an enhanced understanding of the topics of the domain Digital Twins that can lead to both further research ideas and solutions-based implementations. The outcomes of each workshop are reported in the proceedings. Workshops also offer opportunities to promote the results of past or present International, European, and national research projects to facilitate the exploitation of these results.

The Workshop topics, aligned with those of the conference, comprise: Modelling realism in Digital Twins: issues and solutions for interoperable manufacture, Industrial Data Spaces, Health-related data, the foundation for eHealth, System Interoperability in robotic applications for internal logistics, Artificial Intelligence beyond efficiency.
