It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the Proceedings of the 14th
International Conference on Semantic Web Applications and Tools for
Health Care and Life Sciences (SWAT4HCLS 2023).

SWAT4HCLS is a conference series focusing on data integration and
semantic technologies in the biomedical domain. Starting in 2008 as a
one-day workshop on semantic web technologies in bioinformatics, it
has expanded year after year into a four-day event composed of
tutorials, conference and hackathon. The focus of SWAT4HCLS is now
covering data-driven approaches, and good data management practices in
the biomedical domain.

The call for papers solicited research contributions in semantic web
and data-centric infrastructures and resources, knowledge
representation, semantic Web and AI, semantic Web and FAIR data applications
across healthcare and life science communities. There were 22 papers
submitted from around the globe. The conference programme included
14 papers (8 long and 6 short papers), 4 keynotes, 26 posters, 4 demos,
and 5 data-in-use presentations.

The SWAT4HCLS 2023 organizers wish to thank the excellent program
committee for their hard work in reviewing the submitted papers. Their
criticism and very useful comments and suggestions were
instrumental to achieve a high-quality publication. We also thank the conference
authors for submitting good papers, responding to the reviewers’
comments, and abiding by our proceedings production schedule. We further
wish to thank the keynote speakers for their interesting talks. We are
very grateful to our sponsors: Ontotext, Roche, metaphacts, Swiss
Personalized Health Network, Swiss Institute of Bioinformatics, University
of Basel, and Kanton Basel-Stadt.
