<abstract>

The Multilingual Digital Terminology Today (MDTT) international conference is a newly established annual event aimed at researchers in Digital Terminology (DT) and related fields. The decision to organize a conference on Digital Terminology arises from the intention to highlight the interdisciplinary nature of this research field. In fact, modern terminology involves not only exploring the conceptual and linguistic aspects of specialized knowledge, but also investigating how to structure and present this information within a digital environment. The objective is to ensure its optimal reuse and contribute to the advancement of scientific research. For these reasons, MDTT seeks to gather experts in terminology, terminography, computational terminology, computational linguistics, Natural Language Processing (NLP), among others. In addition, this conference aims to facilitate the exchange of methodological insights regarding design approaches, representation formats, and management systems for digital terminology found in multilingual terminological resources. The first edition of MDTT was held at the University of Padua, Italy, in 2022. 1 The research outputs of that edition [1] showed a large participation from researchers all across Europe and even colleagues from Asia, Africa and USA. An additional output was a Special Issue of the Digital Scholarship in the Humanities journal about “Multilingual Digital Terminology' [2] that collected an extended version of eight of the best papers presented at the conference in 2022. The second edition, MDTT 2023,2 is organized around the following areas: • Analysis of the information needs of the future user of the resource • Assessment of structural design approaches for terminological data collections

• Methods of validating the ergonomics of a resource

In accordance with the Open Science principles, MDTT adopts a free and open access
publication scheme through the CEUR Workshop Proceedings system (CEUR-WS.org). The submitted
papers went through a double-blind review process that required at least two reviews by
members of the international scientific committee. We accepted 18 papers out of 32 submissions
(56% acceptance rate). In addition, there will be a Special Issue of the MDPI Languages journal
entitled “Terminology in the Digital World” 3 that will collect the best papers (and also other
contributions) of the MDTT 2023 conference.

The two keynote speakers were Prof. Lynne Bowker (University of Ottawa, Canada) with the
title “La multidimensionnalité dans la terminologie : Vers la découverte de nouveaux concepts ou
vers un multivers de la folie ?”, and Prof. Liana Ermakova (Université de Bretagne-Occidentale,
France) with the title “Identification and contextualization of dificult scientific terms”.

This second edition of the MDTT conference was organized at the Universidade NOVA de
Lisboa, Portugal, with the patronage of the University itself (https://www.unl.pt/), together
with the Centro de Linguistica da Universidade NOVA de Lisboa (https://clunl.fcsh.unl.pt/),
supported by the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (https://www.fct.pt/) as part of the
project UIDB/LIN/03213/2020. In addition, we also had the patronage of the Associazione Italiana
per la Terminologia (Ass.I.Term) (http://www.assiterm91.it) and the Centro di documentazione
e di Ricerca per la Didattica della Lingua Francese nell’Università Italiana (Do.Ri.F.) (https:
