DL – The International Workshop on Description Logics The International Workshop on Description Logics is the main annual event of the description logic research community. It is the forum at which those interested in description logics, from both academia and industry, meet to discuss ideas, share information, and compare experiences. The workshop explicitly welcomes submissions from researchers that are new to the area and provides quality feedback via peer-reviewing, while at the same time being of an inclusive nature with a very high acceptance rate. Inclusion of a paper in the informal (electronic) DL proceedings at CEUR should not preclude the work from later publication at conferences. This volume contains the papers presented at the 36th International Workshop on Description Logics (DL 2023), held between September 2 to 4, 2023, in Rhodes, Greece, collocated with the 20th International Conference on Principles of Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (KR 2023). Every submission to the workshop received on average three reviews provided by 59 PC members and 7 additional external reviewers.
Overall, the committee decided to accept 20 full papers and 19 extended abstracts. The contents of these papers were presented in 25 oral presentations and 15 posters. The program additionally included three invited talks by Nofar Carmeli (Technion, Israel and DI ENS, Universiet´ PSL, CNRS, Inria, France), Anni-Yasmin Turhan (TU Dresden, Germany, joint invited speaker with NMR 2023), and Francesca Toni (Imperial College London, United Kingdom). We thank all the PC members for their invaluable eforts in providing helpful and informative reviews for all submissions on time.
We want to thank the local organizer, Pavlos Peppas, for all the eforts in preparing the event locally in Rhodes, as well as our publicity co-chairs Maurice Funk and Ricardo Guimar˜aes for spreading the word. Of course, the workshop would not have been possible without the submissions and participation of all the people that make DL such a great community.
