      <abstract>
        <p>The eighth edition of the HCI SI conference, organised by the research community in the field of HumanComputer Interaction Slovenia and the ACM SIGCHI Chapter Bled, took place at the University of Maribor on January 26 2024. Elisabeth Lex from Graz University of Technology delivered the keynote address, while a total of seven research papers and four posters were presented. Dne 26. januarja 2024 je na Univerzi v Mariboru potekala osma konferenca HCI SI, ki so jo organizirali skupnost raziskovalcev na področju interakcije človek-računalnik v Sloveniji in ACM SIGCHI Chapter Bled. Glavno predavanje je imela Elisabeth Lex z Tehnične univerze v Gradcu, medtem ko so avtorji predstavili skupaj sedem raziskovalnih člankov in štiri plakate.</p>

      <title>3. Keynote Speaker Biography</title>
      <p>Assoc.-Prof. Dr. Elisabeth Lex is a tenured associate professor at Graz University of Technology
(TUG) and PI of the Recommender Systems and Social Computing Lab at TUG. She is a dean
of study for the master’s program Computational Social Systems. Her areas of expertise
include (psychology-informed) recommender systems, user modelling, behavioural analytics,
information retrieval, machine learning, data science, and web mining. Elisabeth Lex received
her Ph.D. in computer science from Graz University of Technology in 2011. After completing
the Ph.D. program, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at Universidad National de San
Luis, Argentina, and RWTH Aachen, Germany. She has worked on several projects founded
by the EU and Austria and has published more than 100 scientific publications in venues such
as WebConf, HT, RecSys, UMAP, ECIR, ISMIR, as well as in journals such as Foundations and
Trends in Information Retrieval, UMUAI, EPJ Data Science, Frontiers in AI, Transactions of the
International Society for Music Information Retrieval (TISMIR), or the International Journal of
Human-Computer Interaction. Elisabeth regularly gives invited talks about her research and
acts as Senior PC member, PC member, co-organiser, track chair, and co-track chair at venues
such as WebConf, IUI, RecSys, UMAP, Web Science, or HT. More information is available on
