Introduction This is the proceedings of the 8th Human-Computer Interaction Slovenia (HCI SI) conference series, organised by the Slovenian HCI community in conjunction with the ACM SIGCHI Chap- ter Bled. The event brings together Slovenian scholars, researchers, and students specialising in HCI, along with guests from Alps-Adriatic-Danube basin and beyond. In addition to provid- ing a platform to exchange experiences and research findings, the conference facilitates the establishment of new connections and collaborations for the future. The one-day conference was hosted by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Maribor, on 26 January 2024. The programme of the conference included 11 presentations, organised into three sessions, along with the keynote speech. The presentation covered a wide array of HCI topics, ranging from information visualisation, augmented reality, human-machine interaction, user experience, technology and education, gesture recognition, and others. The organisers extend our heartfelt thanks to all our colleagues who contributed to this event, as well as to the reviewers for their invaluable assistance. She is a dean of study for the master’s program Computational Social Systems. Her areas of expertise include (psychology-informed) recommender systems, user modelling, behavioural analytics, information retrieval, machine learning, data science, and web mining. Elisabeth Lex received her Ph.D. in computer science from Graz University of Technology in 2011. After completing the Ph.D. program, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at Universidad National de San Luis, Argentina, and RWTH Aachen, Germany. She has worked on several projects founded by the EU and Austria and has published more than 100 scientific publications in venues such as WebConf, HT, RecSys, UMAP, ECIR, ISMIR, as well as in journals such as Foundations and Trends in Information Retrieval, UMUAI, EPJ Data Science, Frontiers in AI, Transactions of the International Society for Music Information Retrieval (TISMIR), or the International Journal of Human-Computer Interaction. Elisabeth regularly gives invited talks about her research and acts as Senior PC member, PC member, co-organiser, track chair, and co-track chair at venues such as WebConf, IUI, RecSys, UMAP, Web Science, or HT.
