      <abstract>
        <p>This workshop aims to attract short papers that present examples for the use of Petri nets for elegant modeling, analysis or problem solving. The examples should be comprehensible, selfcontained and ideally demonstrate advantages of Petri net techniques compared to other approaches. A particular objective of the workshop is the collection of examples that can be used for exemplary modeling or application of analysis concepts in education. The present proceedings contain six contributions presented at PeNGE 2024. These contributions covered the intended scope ideally. They range from puzzles and examples on the subject of Petri nets, to quizzes for which Petri nets are helpful in solving, to nice Petri net examples in areas of application. What all of these contributions have in common is that they provide suggestions for the use of Petri nets in teaching. We are grateful to all authors for their submissions and revised articles. This response to our call for papers already shows that a workshop about concrete examples and their use in teaching has an important place in the scientific world of Petri nets. We hope for interesting presentations and lively discussions at the workshop. And, of course, we are planning to repeat PeNGE at future Petri net conferences. We are grateful to the organization team in Geneva for their support.</p>
