Preface of the 3rd workshop on Process Management in the AI Era
held in conjunction with ECAI 2024

The third edition of the Process Management in the AI Era (PMAI) workshop was
organized as part of the 27th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence
(ECAI 2024), one of the premiere international gatherings for AI researchers.
Achieving a productive synergy between Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Process
Management (PM) presents foundational, conceptual, and technical challenges.
The PMAI workshop series aims to bring together researchers from various
disciplines to foster collaboration and address these challenges in the field of
               PM.
This one-day workshop featured an invited keynote talk, along with
presentations that covered a range of topics related to the intersection of AI
and PM. The discussions spanned theoretical foundations, technological
developments, and real-world applications, including declarative process
mining, neuro-symbolic integration for temporal knowledge, and probabilistic
               reasoning.
The workshop program included one keynote delivered by Prof. Andrea
Marrella, along with two presentation sessions featuring four regular papers
and one short paper, all of which were selected through a peer-review process.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Prof. Andrea Marrella for his
insightful keynote speech and to all the contributing authors and speakers.
Their participation helped create a platform for knowledge exchange and
spirited discussions on significant advancements at the intersection of AI and
PM, showcasing innovative work in this rapidly evolving area.

We look forward to the continuation of similar events in the future.
