ICBO 2024: 15th International Conference on Biological and Biomedical Ontology
July 18 - July 19, 2024, Enschede, The Netherlands

The 15th International Conference on Biological and Biomedical Ontology was held at the
University Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands. It was co-located with the 14th International
Conference on Formal Ontology in Information Systems (FOIS). The conference included
keynote addresses by Barend Mons from Leiden University Medical Center and Michel
Dumontier from Maastricht University.
There were nine papers submitted for peer-review to this conference. Out of these, seven
papers were accepted for this volume, four as regular papers and three as short papers.
Additionally, we offered authors the option to submit manuscripts to the ICBO Thematic Series
of the Journal of Biomedical Semantics. There were three papers submitted to this track, of
which two were accepted. Thirteen poster abstracts were submitted, with twelve of them
included in this volume. We have also included a paper that was reviewed and presented at the
CELLS 2024 workshop.
